Detention Facility Details

The Trego County Detention Facility holds both male and female prisoners for the Trego County Sheriff's Office, WaKeeney Police Department, Kansas Highway Patrol, and Kansas Wildlife and Parks. It is a 16-bed facility with 2 full-time Detention Deputies.

Inmate Approved Items

• Glasses or Contact lenses
• Medical devices or aids authorized by the Sheriff’s Office
• A non-metallic rosary, crucifix, or other religious medallions not exceeding 1-1/2 inches in diameter
• Letters received while in the Trego County Jail
• No more than 3 books, regardless of their source
• Magazines and books must come directly from a seller such as Amazon
• Inmates are allowed to have white undergarments sent to them, including:
  • White bra (without wire)
  • White tank top
  • White boxer/briefs
  • White long johns

All items must be new and in store-bought packaging

Visitation

Visitation is on Thursdays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Visits are limited to family who are 14 years of age or older.
